An abundance of information and resources were shared with me throughout the five weeks of the program. Also, the speakers they brought in to share their experiences and stories were very interesting, relatable, and informative. Coming into this program I admittingly felt like a lost puppy, but instructor Bell and coordinator Tai were wonderful at keeping the program driven and focused. My research topic was youth injury in sports and how an injury prevention program would reduce cost and the number of injuries. This research was already something I was working on for a small business grant and I really felt this program helped me solidify findings and how those findings should be presented to the public. I read over 50 articles and used less than 25 references for my PowerPoint/poster.

Having a team of experts and professionals was a blessing so that I could bounce ideas back and forth, as well, as proper directions without too many areas of focus. I really enjoyed that aspect, because this was my first time doing a research project on this level on my own, and it was a blessing not to be expected to get everything right.

All in all, I learned so much in the last five weeks. Even with the nervousness and imposing doubts, I felt I did a wonderful job with my presentation as being able to answer questions that were asked, staying within the allotted time limit to present, and encouragement from Dr. Bell.

I felt my research topic was outside the box. Many presentations from my peers were about specific diseases and antibiotic resistance with lots of words I had to sound out to be able to pronounce. After my presentation, I felt very confident due to the feedback and the questions I received afterward. I am learning to be gentle with myself and not compare myself to my peers and what they are doing, and just focus on what drives me.

This opportunity only validated the personal research I'm working on at this moment for a mobility app to be used for injury reduction. 		NG Natashia Green 07/01/22
